Many medical models today treat symptoms, and not the underlying issues. If you were to be told today that you have high blood pressure -- many doctors would prescribe medication rather than help the patient find the underlying reasons for the high blood pressure. At Phoenix we help the person find their underlying reasons for why they drink/use/etc. In many cases people are simply self-medicating to solve some problem in their life. We believe that people have thinking problems, and not drinking/using problems. Finally, we do not consider today's drug issues to be a criminal matter, but rather a national health crises.
